

Open Call for 2025 Global Newsletter Content Creator Application
The Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) is announcing an open call to recruit content creators and translators to produce web publications and newsletters that reflect the perspectives of foreigners for dissemination to global talents.

★ Open Call ★
ㅇ Recruitment: Wed, Mar. 19 – Thu, Apr. 3, 2025 (16 days)
ㅇ Positions: ① Content creator ② Translator
ㅇ Openings:
- ① Content creators: 16 (* incl. 4 reserves)
- ② Translators: 10 individuals (with a total of 20 to be shortlisted based on a 2:1 ratio)
ㅇ Eligibility:
Content creator (non-Korean)
* Marriage migrants (incl. naturalized persons)
∘ A foreigner who resides in Seoul, works in Seoul, or attends school in Seoul
∘ A foreigner who has sufficient know-how as of full adaptation to life in Seoul
∘ A foreigner who has various opinions as to what information is necessary for foreigners who newly migrate to Seoul or come to Seoul to study, and that could deliver useful information in writing to foreigners
∘ A foreigner who has talent in writing, photography
* No special position or status will be conferred
* Undocumented foreigners (or those with expired visa) will be dismissed automatically
Translator (Korean)
∘ A Korean student who can translate and review articles written by foreigners
∘ A Korean person who resides in Seoul or attends school in Seoul
∘ A Korean student who has talent in translation (between Korean and English), irrespective of major
∘ A Korean student who is highly interested in interacting with foreigners
ㅇ Application:
- ① Content creator: fill out and submit attachments 1, 2 and 4 (in Korean or English) via email
- ② Translator: fill out and submit attachments 3 and 4 via email

ㅇ Submission(required): ※ Only documents issued within three months prior to the date of submission are considered valid.

▸ Attestation of residence in Seoul: submit either certificate of alien registration or domestic residence report
▸ Attestation of workplace or school in Seoul: submit either certificate of employment or enrollment
▸ 1 copy of identification card (destroyed immediately after termination pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Act)

ㅇ Screening rubric
Content creator (non-Korean)
- Document review scores added and applicants with high scores selected (reviewed by immigration officer)
- Evaluation (50 points): sincerity (10); creativity (10); integrity (10); composition skills (10); technical skills (10)
Translator (Korean)
- (Preliminary) Document review
- (Secondary) In-person translation test (between Korean and English)
* Test schedule to be announced
ㅇ Compensation
Content creator (non-Korean)
- ₩50,000 (average) or ₩100,000 (excellent) after monthly manuscript review
* Evaluation criteria: content with excellent planning and coverage, such as suitability of subject, completion of manuscript, timeliness of information, applicability to public relations, etc.
* Only excellent manuscripts will be published in web publications
* All content created by the Content creator would be edited and processed through consultation with the city, and the copyright belongs to the City of Seoul.
Translator (Korean)
- ₩50,000 (translation) or ₩25,000 (editing)
* Per subject
* It is planned to be operated as a pool of personnel and payment will be made based on the number of completed cases.
