The University of Bern organizes a variety of summer courses. I would like to point out two interdisciplinary summer schools for bachelor and master students, which take place in August 2019.

The highly complex topic of climate change is the subject of our interdisciplinary bachelor summer school, "Confronting Climate Change ? from Science to Policy".
The course comprises of keynote lectures by high-profile scientists; workshops to train and sharpen students’ disciplinary competence; and a simulation exercise of a multilateral climate conference. A field trip to the high-altitude research station on Jungfraujoch (3500m a.s.l.) will provide insights into the latest measurement technologies, as well as the impact of climate change.

A healthy environment, including healthy soils, plants and animals, is essential for human well-being. The interdisciplinary bachelor and master summer school "Improving health at the interfaces between environment, plants, animals and humans" offers a unique opportunity to explore the methods and current knowledge on the health of terrestrial food chains, from soils to plants, animals and humans.
In “bridge” lectures, scientists will teach basic knowledge on the topic and highlight the most important developments and challenges in the area of One Health research. An excursion along the terrestrial food chain will provide opportunities to explore connections between plant, animal and human health, whilst enjoying beautiful Switzerland.

We would be happy to welcome your students to Bern, next summer.
