[Recruitment for 2015 SNU ISI Internship Positions]
We are looking for hard-working interns who would appreciate the experience in being a staff for an international program at one of Korea’s most reputable and distinguished universities.
*2015 SNU ISI students are not eligible for these positions due to conflict of interest.
Dates
- Training Session: June 20th - 21st (Detailed schedule will be given in May)
- Internship Period: June 22nd - August 3 rd
*Teaching Assistants will be required to start communicating with the course professor and class students via email starting early June as well as plan and execute necessary arrangements for class materials. (All work before internship period above is to be done via email.)
Type of Positions
1. Teaching Assistant
Responsibility
- Will be in charge of 1~2 classes (Time commitment approximately 20 hours a week)
- In charge of class management under supervision of course professor and SNU ISI team, including
1) Communication with class students
2) Production and distribution of class materials
3) Collecting and marking assignments and exams
4) Arranging and managing class field trips when required by professor
5) Assisting visiting professor in settling into life at SNU
6) Distributing and collecting course evaluation forms at the end of program
7) Make regular reports to SNU ISI team on class attendance and course
- Additional roles will be given to TAs as necessary as staff of SNU ISI events, such as assisting on-site at SNU ISI events, organizing small events for SNU ISI students
Requirement
- Must be able to communicate fluently in both Korean and English
- Current SNU students will be given priority
Compensation
- Compensation will be KRW 700,000 in total
- Certificate of Internship will be issued at the end of the internship period
- No accommodation provided
2. Resident Advisor
Resident Advisors will be a crucial part of this year’s SNU ISI team, and will provide a rare and unique chance to develop leadership and communication skills as well as meet and engage with students from all around the world. Being an RA will not just be about work, but will be a 6-week journey of creating an exciting, fun, and safe program closely with the SNU ISI team.
Responsibility
- Each RA will be responsible for approximately 20 students and will be in charge of
1) Organizing and participating in various SNU ISI activities
2) Assuming mentor roles for the students on life at SNU and Korea
3) Assisting students with life at SNU during the program
4) Student check-in and dormitory orientation
5) Making arrangements for dormitory check-out
- Additional responsibilities include:
1) Dormitory room preparation before check-in date / dormitory room clean-up after check-out
2) Working as staff for SNU ISI opening ceremony, student orientation, closing ceremony, and field trips, etc.
3) Taking turns being on duty at the dormitory
Requirement
- Must be able to communicate fluently in both Korean and English
- Able to commit full-time during the duration of the program
Compensation
- Compensation will be KRW 1,500,000 in total
- Accommodations at SNU dormitory will be provided from June 24th to August 3rd
(Double-occupancy room to be shared with one other RA)
- Certificate of Internship will be issued at the end of the internship period
Other
- Accommodation before June 24th will not be provided by SNU ISI
