University of Bristol new summer school 2020 : Advanced Chemical Characterisation

The University of Bristol is delighted to introduce a new 2020 summer school. We are offering our Advanced Chemical Characterisation summer school to a select number of partners and would like to prioritize Seoul National University students for this opportunity.

Over three weeks (18 July ? 8 August 2020) students will undertake a series of Academic English and Chemistry sessions. Academic English for Chemistry morning classes will equip students with the technical language, communication skills, reporting and presentation techniques that will be directly applied in afternoon Chemistry laboratory and instrumentation sessions.

Your students will benefit from the chance to gain practical experiences through a carefully selected series of experiments and instrumentation activities, all support by our world-leading faculty.

The total for the summer school is £3350 per student and we are limiting the first year intake to under 20 students to maximise their small-group learning and faculty interactions.

The summer school fee includes the following:

All Chemistry tuition, consumables and supervised learning

All Academic English for Chemistry tuition and pre-arrival online materials

Single-room accommodation in a University of Bristol residence

Breakfast and evening meals

All social activities, including scheduled meals outside of residence and daytrips

24-7 staff support as well as dedicated student leaders

Arrivals and departures day transfers within Bristol from/to the airport, coach station or Temple Meads train station

I attach a guide with full information about the summer school. Please do let me know if this summer school would be of interest to your Chemistry students as we anticipate that this will be a competitive summer school.

To apply, students will need to submit a short personal statement and a translated tran'script' by 1st April.

For further information about the application process or any other aspect of this exciting new summer school please contact me at any point : Kathryn Segesser, PhD (kathryn.segesser@bristol.ac.uk)
