The University of Leicester is pleased to announce the launch of the Headstart Academic Skills Programme, an online course to help prepare international students for academic study in the UK. As a trusted partner we would like to encourage you to promote this course to support your students who are coming to the UK. Offered by the Centre for International Training and Education at the University of Leicester, the aims of the course are to give international students a headstart in their academic studies while helping them to avoid common pitfalls and difficulties.
Course Aims:
· To prepare students for written assignments and projects that they will be expected to complete during their academic studies.
· To develop students’ subject-specialist language and study skills in preparation for academic courses.
· To give an understanding of differences in academic values and expectation between the UK and students’ home countries.
· To make students familiar with British universities’ teaching methodologies, online facilities and resources.
This course would be particularly beneficial for those students who will be studying at a UK university with a January start date.
